Punjab LB Laws are pre-poll rigging: Pervez Elahi
LAHORE: Chaudhry Pervez Elahi, leader of Pakistan Muslim League – Quaid-e-Azam (PML-Q), claimed that the Local Bodies (LB) Laws of Punjab are a pre-poll rigging, ARY News reports.
Speaking at a press conference here on Thursday, Chaudhry Pervez Elahi said that his party can form coalitions with all parties except Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) for the LB Elections. He claimed that funds worth Rs. 200 billion were provided to LB institutions during his governance whereas Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif spent it on Jangla Bus Service.
Further criticizing the Punjab Government, the PML-Q leader alleged that the constituencies, across the province, were formed on the consent of PML-N Parliamentarians and the officials involved in the delimitations of the constituencies have been given the charge of Returning Officers (RO) as well.
He added that the party will contest the polls on their election symbol.
