Punjab LB polls: Bilawal denies tickets to relatives of party officials

KARACHI: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has decided not to issue party tickets to the relatives of party officials and parliamentarians for the local bodies (LB) election in Punjab, ARY News reported.

In order to reconcile the disgruntled party workers, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has devised a new formula under which party tickets will not be issued to the relatives of PPP officials and parliamentarians for the LB elections in Punjab.

The tickets will only be issued to genuine workers on the basis of merit, he decided during a party meeting.

The PPP chairman announced that he will soon visit Punjab to meet the workers and listen to their issues.

Meanwhile, PPP Punjab chapter’s senior vice-president Firdous Ashiq Awan resigned from her post, however her resignation was not approved.

Firdous Ashiq Awan during her meeting with the PPP chairman had informed him about her reservations.
