Punjab legislates to punish terror abettors

The bill titled, The Punjab Maintenance of Public Order (amendment) Bill 2015 specifies punishment up to 3 years or Rs 50,000 fine for supporters of terrorists, terror outfits and opponents of anti-terror operations.

While those buying and selling uniforms of police and other law enforcement agencies without license will be sentenced for six months in prison or fine of Rs 50,000.

Under the bill, a station house officer of a police station is entitled to ask administrator of any public gathering record of speeches made in the rally. In case of refusal, a person concerned could be sentenced to six months in prison or Rs 1,00,000 fine.
