Punjab, Sindh police launch joint operation to recover abducted cops

Heavy contingents of police from Punjab and Sindh reached Katcha area on Sunday afternoon and launched a joint operation to recover abducted cops.

The operation is still underway, while an exchange of fire is also being reported between the robbers and cops.

Meanwhile, Punjab CM Shahbaz Sharif took notice of the incident and sought a report from DPO Rahim Yar Khan.

He ordered the officials to safely rescue all the abducted cops and arrest the dacoits.

Yesterday, policemen were standing guard at a checkpost close to Sindh-Punjab border that notorious bandits Sultu Shar and Chotu Bakhrani attacked the police post along with several other gang members.

The dacoits abducted all the seven cops including an assistant sub-inspector (ASI) and whisked them away with their arms.
