ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique has said that new railway engines are being purchased to improve the performance of department.
He was addressing Pakistan Railways employees in Karachi on Saturday.
The Minister expressed the resolve to put Pakistan Railways on right track by checking losses and increasing income.
He said a better service structure for railway employees will be announced by the end of next year.
Recently, the minister officially inaugurated electronic-ticketing system to facilitate the passengers for comfortably getting tickets online.
The system was inaugurated in a ceremony held at the Pakistan Railways headquarters in Lahore.
At the time of inauguration, he said that the government had taken many practical measures for the development of the Pakistan Railways.
He said that the E-Ticketing system was launched for five trains including Green Line.
E-Ticketing facility is currently available from Lahore to Rawalpindi section only. The facility will later be expanded.
