LAHORE: Federal Information Minister Pervez Rasheed has said the declarations of Dr. Tahirul Qadri should not be considered seriously, ARY News reported Sunday.

Regarding the ‘All Party Conference’ convened by Dr. Qadri and subsequent demands made by it, the minister said government had already begun its duty of providing justice to those who lost their lives in Model Town tragedy, he told ARY News.

Rasheed said a fair investigation team headed by high court judge was already probing the case.

We have already sought our minister’s resignation in Punjab so nobody must now question our intent. On May 12 incident in 2007, did anyone seek resignation of the then interior minister, he asked.

Until court declares someone guilty, how someone could be removed, questioned the minister, adding how Dr. Qadri can declare someone convicted. “Is he a judge and complainant, both?”.

Dr. Qadri’s demands should not be considered serious. Whatever I am speaking is a point of view of my party, he concluded.
