The landmark decision was taken during a high-level meeting in Dubai which was attended by PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and former President Asif Ali Zardari.

Syed Qaim Ali Shah was also present during the meeting.

This was confirmed by PPP spokesperson Senator Farhatullah Babar who said that several changes will also be made in the provincial cabinet. This will be confirmed when Bilawal Bhutto will return to Karachi in the coming week.

Murad Ali Shah, the current Finance Minister of Sindh is expected to replace him as the Chief Minister. It is also confirmed that his name has been finalised in the meeting.

Qaim Ali Shah has been serving as the Chief Minister since 2008. The decision is unexpected as the PPP leadership was scheduled to decide on the extension of powers of Rangers in Karachi and the rest of the province.
