ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)’s Secretary Information Shafqat Mahmood said that Qatari Prince’s categorical rejection to accept the jurisdiction of Pakistani laws makes his two letters suspicious and irrelevant in the Panamagate probe.
“Being the sole witness in the case while refusing to accept the jurisdiction of any court simply makes his letters incredible,” he said.
The PTI leader claimed that Sharifs had no proof to vindicate themselves besides those two letters to establish money trail of their offshore properties. “But how the letters of a person could be considered credible when he does not deem Pakistani laws applicable on him, challenging the jurisdiction of apex court instead,” he queried.
He opined that it was the due responsibility of Sharif family to make Qatari prince appear before the JIT rather asking the probing team to go and record his statement.
“The prince could come to Pakistan for hunting houbara bustard but could not turn up for recording statement,” he said while lashing out at Qatari prince.
Separately, PTI’s spokesperson Fawad Chaudhary – responding to the ministers press conference – said the government changed its strategy after it had learnt that apparently the Qatari prince had refused to testify before the JIT.
He said the ruling party is now viewing everything as a conspiracy. However, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) itself been part and parcel of all conspiracies.
