MONACO: Aisam-Ul-Haq Qureshi and his Indian partner Rohan Bopanna progressed to the pre-quarterfinals of the ATP Monte Carlo Masters in Monaco on Tuesday, ARY News reported.
The Pak-Indo duo overcaming a stiff resistance from Julian Knowle and Vasek Pospisil in the battle of one hour and 15 minutes in their opening round of the Euro 3,452,415 clay court event defeated them by 7-6 (2) 6-4.
The Austrian-Canadian gave tough time to the exprienced Pak-Indo pair but Bopanna and Qureshi bounced back well in the second set to claim victory.
Bopanna and Qureshi will now squared off the seventh seeded pair of Lukasz Kubot from Poland and Robert Lindsret of Sweden in their next match.
