Rafique vows action against police for assaulting journalists

ISLAMABAD: Railways Minister Khwaja Saad Rafique said he saw police attacking the journalists during the protest in Islamabad, stating he had no words in defence of the police act, ARY News reported Sunday.

Talking to ARY News, he said he asked police not to create further problem for the government by attacking journalists.

He vowed police officers attacking the media persons would be taken to task.  The minister claimed that even the cops tried to attack him.

State institutions have become rudderless, he added. The journalists were assaulted even in the presence of Rafique during his visit to the Constitution Avenue.

He said the police brought shame for the government.
