Rahat to perform in 48 cities worldwide as tribute to Nusrat Fateh

Rahat Fateh Ali Khan will pay a tribute to his illustrious uncle Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan on his 20th anniversary next year by holding 48 concerts in 48 cities around the world including India, USA, UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.

Nusrat Fateh died at the age of 48 in London after suffering a cardiac arrest on 16th August 1997. The “Shahenshah-e-Qawwali” is considered one of the greatest voice ever recorded and hold the world record as the most prolific ghazal singer.

Rahat who is carrying the legacy of Nusrat will perform in nine cities of Pakistan including Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Faisalabad, Bhawalpur, Siakot, Multan, Hyderabad and Mirpur Azad Kasmir.

Later, Rahat will perform in more than seventeen cities of the United States including New York, Washington, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, New Jersey, Houston, Maimi, Chicago, Dallas and Boston and several others.

In Canada, Rahat will be seen performing in Toronto, Vancouver, Edmonton and Winnipeg. Three Australian cities Melbourne, Sydney and Perth, while the Auckland and Wellington in New Zealand will also see him perform.

Later, the journey will be carried to Africa where he will perform in the Kenyan capital Nairobi, and the South African cities of Johannesburg and Durban.

There will be one off performance in the Indian capital New Delhi along with performances in Dubai, Doha and Muscat in the Middle East.

The European cities where Rahat will perform include Amsterdam (Netherlands), Paris (France), and the British cities of Birmingham, Leicester, Leeds and London.
