ISLAMABAD: A rain spell is likely to hit different parts of the country from Monday ending the prolonged dry spell and washing away smog from various cities of Punjab, MET department informed the state radio on Sunday.

According to MET department predictions, Upper Sindh and Balochistan are likely to receive rain at scattered places tonight (Sunday night) and tomorrow.

Meanwhile, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Federally Administrated Tribal Areas (FATA), Islamabad Upper and South Punjab are to receive rain from Monday (tomorrow).

The rain will help end current smoggy conditions but the natural fog will continue to engulf different parts of the country, the MET office said.

Rains in Punjab are expected to provide a relief from the thick smog and haze that have almost paralysed the normal life in various cities of Punjab.
