Rana hints at LB polls to be delayed till 2016 if delimitations not approved
LAHORE: Minister of Local Bodies (LB) and Legal Affairs, Rana Sanaullah has said if the delimitations for LB elections are not approved by the concerned authorities, then it will be difficult to hold the polls even by 2016 – ARY News reports.
Talking to media here, Rana Sanaullah left everyone in astonishment saying that the delimitations should be approved by the authorities, whereas if a population census is demanded then the LB polls can further be delayed.
Meanwhile, the opposition parties in Punjab Assembly strongly reacted to Rana Sanaullah's statement and labeled it a conspiracy for not conducting the LB elections.
Opposition parties are of the view that the Punjab Government is afraid of its defeat in LB elections in the province and it wants to get rid of these polls.
