Rana Sanaullah and company will have to answer for Model Town killings: Chohan
LAHORE: Responding to criticism by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Rana Sanaullah, Punjab Information Minister Fayyazul Hassan Chohan on Monday said that criticism does not suit people like Sanaullah who were “involved in Model Town killings”.
Fayyaz ul Hassan Chohan said that Rana Sanaullah and company will have to answer for murdering 14 innocent people during the 2014 Model Town carnage.
“Rana Sanaullah is trying to give protection to the worst corruption and dishonesty of his leaders. He has the audacity to create hue and cry over a 14billion rupees corruption case and plunder of 3000 kanal of land in Aashiana housing scandal,” said Chohan.
Earlier, while giving reaction to a statement of Asif Kirmani, Minister for Information & Culture said that PTI’s government is facing the consequences of irrational decisions, plunders and loot of the past government.
“The PML-N leadership is trying to divert the attention of people from the corruption of their leaders,” said the minister.
He maintained that the PTI government inherited a deficit of Rs1250billion in power sector, Rs150 billion in gas and Rs35 billion in railways sector due to the “inefficiency and corruption” of PML-N government.
He said that decrease in export level during last five years is not because of Imran Khan but due to bad policies of Sharif family.
He said that cronies of Sharif family are trying to question the credibility and independence of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) but they will not succeed.
It is pertinent to note here that earlier in the day, PML-N leader Rana Sanaullah, following party’s Central Executive Committee (CEC) meeting in Lahore, demanded that Leader of Opposition in the National Assembly Shahbaz Sharif, who is currently in the National Accountability Bureau’s (NAB) custody, should be brought to parliament so he can present his case before the people of the country.
“If our demand is not met, then from Wednesday we will stage protests outside the respective assemblies,” he said.
“The actual reason behind Shehbaz’s arrest was to carry out ‘political victimisation’ to affect the outcome of the October 14 by-polls,” the PML-N leader had claimed.
Another PML-N leader Asif Kirmani too had criticsed the government for “targeting political opponents” and introducing policies to rob people.
