Rangers seize heavy weapons including machine guns in Karachi raid

KARACHI: The paramilitary force in Karachi has recovered heavy cache of weapons following leads provided by a ‘notorious criminal’ in detention of the Rangers, ARY News reported.

The raid was conducted in Surjani Town area this noon, where law enforcement personnel found difference cache of weapons concealed under sand.

Arms were buried under the ground and washroom was constructed on the land to fend off any suspicion of the law enforcers.

Following the raid, the security personnel also interrogated terrorists belonging to a banned outfit in Central Jail, who also revealed spots where arms were secretly kept.

The weapons recovered from Surjani included machine guns, 4mm rifles and arms of different caliber.

 

Earlier in the day, Pakistan Rangers Sindh conducted a raid in Orangi Town and arrested a suspected target killer from the neighbourhood.

Rangers spokesman said that suspect, Naseem Haider, belonged to a proscribed organisation. He is alleged to have been involved in sectarian killings, and was wanted in the target killing of several doctors. Arms and ammunition were also recovered from his possession.

In another raid, police arrested a member of the Lyari gang war from the area in a wounded condition. The suspect belonged to the Baba Ladla group.

He is alleged to be involved in wide range of criminal activities including kidnapping for ransom and extortion. Police also recovered a weapon and ammunition from his possession.
