Rangers arrest ten suspects in Larkana raids
On the third day of operations, Rangers arrested ten people including Pathan Abro who is involved in various criminal activities and recovered heavy ammunition including rocket launcher.
They said that Abro is wanted in more than ten severe criminal cases. The arrested men have been transferred to an undisclosed location for further interrogation.
The Rangers have demanded that Asad Kharal, who is alleged a close associate of Tariq Anwar Siyal brother of Sindh Home Minister Sohail Anwar Siyal, be handed over to them. Asad Kharal is wanted in various criminal activities including the killing of two Rangers personnel.
This is the start of operation in other parts of Sindh apart from Karachi by Rangers. Larkana is the stronghold of the Pakistan People’s Party as it was the hometown of Benazir Bhutto. The current Home Minister Sohail Anwar Siyal also hails from the city.
However, a rift has been initiated between the Rangers and the provincial government. It is expected that there will be changes in the provincial cabinet as the row is escalating with the paramilitary force.
