Rangers arrests nine suspects in Karachi raids

KARACHI: Pakistan Rangers Sindh on Thursday conducted several raids in various areas of the city and arrested nine suspects including three militants linked to a political party, ARY News reported.

The paramilitary said the operation in Karachi to restore peace is successfully underway.

A Rangers spokesman said that the three belonged to the militant wing of a political organisation.

The suspects are allegedly involved in a range of offences including target killing, narcotics and streets crimes. They have been identified as Abdul Aziz alias Baba, Muhammad Ahsan alias Mullah, and Muhammad Sulaiman.

Rangers spokesman further said two others operations were conducted in Awami Colony and Brigade area where four street criminals were arrested.

They were reportedly absconding in several cases of robbery, street crimes and snatching personal objects from citizens. A large quantity of weapons, ammunition and narcotics were also recovered from their posses. The suspects have been handed over to local police station for legal proceedings.
