Rangers capture bombs, explosives in Lyari raid
KARACHI: Paramilitary Rangers in a raid at a house in Daryabad area of Lyari captured large quantity of explosives and finished bombs, ARY News reported on Saturday.
A large contingent of Rangers on intelligence report conducted raid in Daryabad area of Lyari capturing 50 kilograms of explosives, four prepared bomb devices, a Klashnikov, a TT pistol, detonator wire, a hand grenade, a ball bomb, ball bearings and nut bolts.
The bomb disposal squad defused bomb devices after an hour long hard work.
The raid was conducted on an intelligence report about presence the members of a banned militant group, a Rangers spokesman said. The accused were escaped from the scene.
The accused had planned for a big terrorist attack, which was foiled with timely raid of the Rangers, spokesman said. The bomb devices were controlled by remote to hit a target.
Moreover, Police captured a truck carrying cement bags, which was snatched from Mochko police jurisdiction.
The law enforcement agencies arrested 10 accused with arms, including two foreign nationals in various raids in the city.
