KARACHI: Paramilitary Rangers in a targeted operation at Atta-ur-Rehman Goth of Landhi this morning arrested five suspects having links with a banned militant group, ARY News reported on Thursday.  

A man was shot dead in Chakiwara area of Lyari today, as the spate of killings continued in Karachi amid the law enforcement agencies crackdown against criminals.

Paramilitary Rangers launched targeted operation at Atta-ur-Rehman Goth in Landhi this morning after closing the entry and exit points of the area. 

The Rangers on an intelligence clue about presence of criminals in the area has launched  house to house search operation with 1000 security men, the paramilitary force's spokesman said in a statement. 

Moreover, the city's East Zone police in various raids arrested 40 suspects with weapons and captured stolen motorbikes, mobile phones and two dumpers.
