Rangers official killed, six injured in Karachi attack
KARACHI: One Rangers official was killed whereas six others were injured in a remote-controlled bomb attack at a vehicle of the paramilitary force in Landhi No.89 area of Karachi on Thursday.
Superintendent of Police Landhi Faisal Nur stated that 10 Rangers officials were on a truck when the incident occurred. The attack took place when there duties were being changed.
According to initial information, two kilograms of explosives were used in the bomb attack.
The injured were shifted to Jinnah Hospital for medical treatment. Dr. Simi Jamali, Deputy Director of Jinnah Hospital said that six of the injured were brought to the hospital in which two were in critical condition. The injured included Punnu Khan, Bandi Khan, Gul Ameen, Maqbool, Shahnawaz and Anwar.
An injured official succumbed to his injuries during the treatment.
Police surrounded the area and the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) was called which has started its investigation of the incident.
