Rangers’ special powers extended for 77 days

According to the summary, special powers will be granted to the para-military force from 4th May 2016 till 19th July 2016. It is pertinent to mention here that the federal government had sent a letter to the provincial government on the matter.

Director General Rangers Sindh Major General Bilal Akbar called on Chief Minister of Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah at the Chief Minister House on Tuesday.

During their meeting, the DG of Rangers discussed the issues with the chief minister pertaining to the overall law and order situation in Karachi, ongoing targeted operations, progress of terrorism cases in courts and other related matters.

The chief minister appreciated the results of the successful targeted operation leading to tangible improvement in the law and order situation in the city.
