A Rangers spokesman said that since the past few days, a political party whose leadership has been abroad, had issued controversial statements and incitement towards state institutions. This has created a huge challenge and was an obstacle to peace efforts in the city.
He said that strict security will be provided to shopping centres and other public places during Eid-ul-Fitr, and other political, media and business institutions will also be provided complete security.
The statements by certain politicians have instigated a certain group of people to target state institutions, media institutions, artists and businessman, spokesman said.
He said that security will be provided to all those who have received threats. The public should identify those miscreants who are disturbing peace in the city and contact them in case of any untoward incident.
