KARACHI: Pakistan Rangers Sindh on Wednesday cautioned citizens before donating the hides of sacrificial animals on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha as it may be used to fund extremist organisations.

Rangers released a statement saying that funds from the sale of hides of sacrificial animals can fund several extremist and terrorist organisations, and giving to such organisations is tantamount to facilitating them and their activities.

It appealed to the public to make sure that the funds from donated hides do not intentionally or otherwise finance terrorism, target killing and other heinous crimes or are used to run their networks.

It also said to inform the paramilitary on their helpline if anyone attempts to forcibly collect hides of sacrificial animals from them. Rangers said that it was their foremost duty to safeguard the people.
