MUMBAI: Ranveer Singh who was recently signed up to perform at the Indian Premier League (IPL) opening ceremony was spotted braving a shoulder injury. Unfortunately, this means that the 32-year-old actor might not be performing at the IPL opening ceremony this year.

Ranveer Singh

The spokesperson of the actor has confirmed the state of injury last evening saying,

“Ranveer Singh has injured his shoulder during a football match and has been advised not to over-strain it for at least one month. Ranveer is, however, not taking any breaks and will continue shooting for Gully Boy as per schedule. Ranveer is in consultation with the doctors who will advise him, in a day or two, on whether he would able to perform at this year’s Indian Premier League (IPL) opening ceremony in which he is doing the finale act.”

If reports are to be believed the Padmavaat Actor might be replaced by Hrithik Roshan for the grand ceremony scheduled on April 7.

If Hrithik steps on-board, he will be the biggest star act of the night in the opening ceremony of popular IPL, followed by performances by Parineeti Chopra and Varun Dhawan.

Previously Hrithik Roshan had graced the IPL opening ceremony stage in Kolkata in 2015.
