Rasheed says Khursheed made Chairman PAC to ensure accountability

ISLAMABAD: Federal Information Minister, Pervez Rasheed has said that accountability is a difficult thing to perform and to maintain transparency the Opposition Leader Khursheed Shah has been appointed as the Chairman of Public Accounts Committee (PAC) – ARY News reports.

 

Addressing a ceremony with respect to the Anti-Corruption Day and talking to media men on Monday, the Information Minister said that there are no chances of irregularities in PM’s Youth Program and transparency will be maintained.

 

Commenting on Pak-US ties, he said that Pakistan wants cordial terms with the United States and wants to sort out all issues through talks, while negotiations with Taliban have also been prioritized by the Government.

 

Addressing the conference, acting Chairman National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Saeed Ahmed Sargana said that in Pakistan votes are purchased during the elections and the system will not improve until the individual vote is not given significance.

 

He further told that NAB saved Rs 300 million, by keeping a watch at different projects.

 

Sargana said that we will have to fight together in order to win the war against corruption. He added that an anti-corruption awareness campaign will have to be initiated at union council level to educate the masses.
