Rasheed urges CM Sindh to review Hayat's removal

ISLAMABAD: Federal Information Minister, Pervez Rasheed has said that Additional Inspector General (IG) Karachi, Shahid Hayat is an able officer and the Government of Sindh demonstrated non-seriousness by removing him making the court orders as the bases of it. He urged the Chief Minister of Sindh, Qaim Ali Shah to review the decision – ARY News reports.

According to details, Pervez Rasheed said that Shahid Hayat is a capable officer and his performance was significant during the past 11 months. He added that the Government of Sindh removed Hayat from his post, making court orders as the bases and demonstrated non-seriousness.

Rasheed suggested that Shahid Hayat should have continued working as the Additional IG Karachi and urged the CM Sindh, Qaim Ali Shah to review the decision of his removal.

The Information Minister stated that maintaining law and order is the responsibility of the provincial government, but the Prime Minister, Nawaz Sharif made efforts himself, due to the worsened situation of Karachi.

He told that the Prime Minister reviewed the Karachi Operation 10 times, during the last 11 months, Shahid Hayat is an able officer and the Sindh Police had chosen him as the Karachi Police Chief.

Moreover, Pervez Rasheed vowed that the Federation and the Prime Minister will continue monitoring the Karachi Operation.
