“The decision came late but it was the right decision. Sohail Khan will hopefully deliver in New Zealand and Australian conditions,” Rashid said.
“His (Sohail) performance in Pentangular Cup shows he is capable of bowling well. But it was not expected that the selectors would name him in the squad. However, it came as pleasant surprise,” Rashid said.
Rashid added that ignoring prolific Fawad Alam and Bilawal Bhatti surprised him. “Fawad has been going great guns with the bat. And Bhatti deserved a place more than Wahab Riaz,” he said.
Rashid further said that he want to see Pakistan claiming the trophy but South Africa and New Zealand stands real chance to clinch the title.
“New Zealand defeated Pakistan in a test match and also won ODI series in UAE. Imagine how will they play at their own backyard,” he explained.
He further said that South Africa has a high performing balanced side and therefore chances are also high of reaching the podium.
