Rawalpindi Incident: 92 identified through footages, says Rana
LAHORE: Provincial Law Minister, Rana Sanaullah, has said that 92 persons behind the Rawalpindi Incident were identified through footages of the event – ARY News reports.
Speaking to the media here on Thursday, he said that 42 persons were witnessed in taking part in destructive acts. 35 persons, out of 42 involved in the incident, have been taken into custody.
Five of the arrested persons are police officers, he added.
Stating on the involvement of police behind the event, Rana Sanaullah said that officers were not on duty and were seen amongst the mob. The negligent officers will be punished. No biasness will be made with the suspected police officers.
Law Minister further said that cases have been filed against the seven damaged properties of Shiites and 47 persons have been apprehended.
The Ulemas role was positive, Rana said.
