Rawalpindi: Police arrests 4 extortionists belonging to Karachi
RAWALPINDI: Rawalpindi Police has arrested four extortionists from here on Monday, who belong to Karachi and used to demand extortion from local traders and businessmen – ARY News reports.
The epidemic of demanding protection money has now reached Rawalpindi, wherefrom the police arrested 4 extortionists, who belong to Karachi. RPO Rawalpindi, Umer Akhter Laleka told that the arrested accused used to pose themselves as the local ameer of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and demanded money from locals.
He added that none of the 4 arrested accused, belong to any political party or banned organization, they were criminals and might have fled Karachi, due to an operation there.
RPO Rawalpindi further claimed that one of the extortionists, has previously been working in a private TV channel.
