Rawalpindi: Two ‘terrorists’ killed in encounter with LEAs

RAWALPINDI: Two suspected terrorists were killed in an exchange of fire with law enforcement agencies (LEAs) in Wah Cantt area in the wee hours of Monday, ARY News reported.

Acting on a tip-off, the LEAs conducted a raid in the area.

Sensing arriving of the security personnel, the terrorists opened fire at LEA personnel and in retaliation, two suspects were killed, sources said.

The terrorists were identified as Sifatullah and Muhammad Abbas who had taken refuge in the area. The LEAs have also claimed to recover huge cache of arms and ammunition including two suicide vests from the hideout of suspected militants.

The sources further said that Muhammad Abbas was resident of Charsadda road.

Meanwhile, police recovered huge stockpile of weapon recovered from hidden portions of the car by foiling a weapon smuggling bid near Sheikhupura.

The motorway police said that the car was coming from Islamabad and the weapon were to be smuggled to Lahore.

However, no arrest could be made as the suspects abandoned the car and fled from the spot.
