Religious scholar gunned down in Karachi; Jund Allah claims responsibility

KARACHI: A religious scholar was gunned down in Nazimabad area on Thursday, sparking terror in the neighbourhood, ARY News reported.

Four armed men riding two motorbikes opened fire on a vehicle near matric board office intersection in Nazimabad area, killing Allama Taqi Hadi Naqvi. Banned terrorist outfit Jund Allah has claimed responsibility of the killing.

Allama Naqvi was the resident of Bufferzone area, and was leaving for his place in a rickshaw, when armed men targeted him. Investigators say Allama suffered four bullets in his chest and died on the spot. The deceased was also a supreme council member of Jaffaria Alliance.

The protest demonstration and panic ensued at Abu Isphani Road and Ancholi areas where all business were closed shortly after the killing.

Majlis Wahdatul Muslimeen and Jaffaria Alliance have strongly condemned the incident and demanded arrest of the culprits.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah has ordered the IG Sindh to immediately arrest the killers of Allama Naqvi .
