Rental Power case: Witness records statement

ISLAMABAD: A witness recorded his statements in the Rental Power corruption case against the former Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf  here in Islamabad on Tuesday, ARY News reports.

Raja Pervez Ashraf was presented in the accountability court today for the hearing along with his lawyer Farooq H. Naek. During the hearing, four witnesses of the case were also present in the court.

Former PM said that he was accused in the case without any investigation. He added that a media trial should not be held against him.

Defence Counsel Farooq Naek argued that his client did not commit any wrongdoings. He added that no signatures were found in any documents which do not prove that he committed the corruption and the state was affected by it.

 According to details received by ARY News, the statement of Director Technical Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) was recorded in the case.

The proceedings were adjourned till 26th February.
