Report on IDPs sent to PM; 0.5m people registered

ISLAMABAD: A detailed reported regarding registration and distribution of compensation amount among the internally displaced persons (IDPs) of North Waziristan has been sent to the prime minister, ARY News reported Sunday.

Report says that registration of 44,633 families comprising 5,72,664 people had been completed. It further states that an amount of Rs 320.55 million had been disbursed among 27,664 families.

While relief goods containing several items were provided to 31,000 families by Pakistan Army and World Food Programme.

The report adds that 5,000 food sacks weighing 110-kg each are being distributed on daily basis to 11 different food points set up in the operation-hit region.

Under the foreign aid, UAE and United States have provided $20 million $30 million, respectively to Pakistan.

Sources told that 7,59, 835 people have migrated from North Waziristan in the wake of military operation against militants.
