Responsibility of providing F-16 jets to Pakistan lies with US: Fatemi
According to Radio Pakistan, PM’s assistant made the statement in an interview.
It is pertinent to mention that the U.S. government had announced in February about approval of the sale of eight F-16 jets to Pakistan built by Lockheed Martin Corporation as well as radar and other equipment in a deal valued at $699 million.
The country stated that Pakistan itself would have to finance the purchase of the aircrafts after members of the U.S. Congress objected to the use of government funds to pay for the deal.
Fatemi also said that the world as whole will benefit from Pakistan’s efforts against terrorism.
He added that Pakistan, China, Afghanistan and the United States must act on proactive basis in order to initiate peace talks with Taliban and the Afghan government.
He went on to say that, after RAW agent’s arrest, Pakistan sensitized the world’s major powers about India’s involvement in disrupting the country’s peace.
Fatemi added that strong and tangible evidences have been presented to the world conveying that such activities would negatively affect regional peace and stability.
