Retired Younis gets heroic welcome upon return

KARACHI: Pakistani cricketer Younis Khan who recently announced his retirement from one day cricket was warmly welcomed by the nation upon his return to Pakistan.

Younis Khan announced his retirement from one day cricket during the ongoing tour of England.

Fans had gathered at Karachi’s Jinnah Airport to welcome the cricketer on return to Pakistan.

In the 50 over format, Younis Khan scored 7,249 runs in 265 matches with an average of 31.34.

He also became the first Pakistani batsman to score 9,000 runs in test cricket.

He also batted with Pakistani greats Muhammad Yousaf and Inzamam-ul-Haq before they retired from international cricket.
