Roads closure in Islamabad red zone irks citizens

TOP NEWS

ISLAMABAD: In view of weekly protests of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Islamabad administration has sealed red zone areas, bringing hardships to the citizens, ARY News reported Friday.

PTI has been staging weekly protest demonstrations against ‘rigging’ in general elections last year. The capital city administration has sealed all roads leading to red zone in view of the PTI protests.

Citizens complained they had been braving serious problems due to closure of important thoroughfare as part of a ‘so-called security measure’.

The staff of advocate general Sindh was also stopped when they headed towards the Supreme Court. Only one road leading to the SC premises and other important buildings was opened, causing huge snarl-ups.

Additional contingent of police was also deployed along roads to prevent any untoward incident.
