Earlier in August, four robbers entered a bank on Shara-e-Faisal, Karachi, during the day time and within five minutes they collected Rs0.8 million from the cash counter and fled from the scene on two bikes.

Senior Superintendent Police (SSP) East Noman Siddiqui said the criminals had taken the bank staff hostage on gunpoint.

The SSP said the incident took place in Ferozabad police station’s jurisdiction. He said it took 15 minutes to police to reach the bank after security alarm was set off.

He said it was found out that security rules were not being followed by the bank’s branch and the bunker made for security purpose was being used as a store, which made it easy for the criminals to conduct the crime easily.
