The funds are being released through supplementary grant during current financial year 2016-17 under object Repair of Helicopter to incur the expenditure Ferry Flights, unforeseen expenditures and traveling expenditures of Stage Inspection Team.
The Russian made MI-17 (AP-BGX) helicopter is in the use of Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and has been grounded after it completed its flying hours and required complete overhauling and repair.
After approval of funds from Finance department in the shape of Bank Draft, the helicopter is being sent to Russia for its repair and maintenance. Punjab CM Shahbaz Sharif is using CESSNA aircraft and MI-17 helicopter and after the helicopter is being sent for its repair, he will be left with CESSNA aircraft
