Rs48bn released for LPG air-mix plants in Balochistan: Ghulam Sarwar

ISLAMABAD: Minister for Petroleum Ghulam Sarwar on Friday said that Rs48 billions hab been released for establishment of 26 LPG air-mix plants in Balochistan to meet the gas demand there.

Addressing the Senate session, Ghulam Sarwar told the house that no unannounced gas load-shedding was being carried out in any part of the country.

He said that they were making efforts to remove system constraints so as to resolve the issue of low gas pressure.

The minister said that the Sui Northern Gas Pipeline Limited (SNGPL) had started injection of RLNG which had mitigated the demand and supply gap of natural gas to a great extent. He said that

Ghulam Sarwar said that the SNGPL had also arranged a number of LNG cargos which will further improve the situation. He said that the government was taking strict measures to stop gas theft across the country.

Earlier, Federal Petroleum Minister Ghulam Sarwar Khan, February 2, had said that the government had been taking measures to ensure uninterrupted gas supply across the country.

Addressing a press conference, Ghulam Sarwar said that offshore drilling had been started in January and good news was expected by end of March. He said so far, 3500 meter deep drilling had been done out of 5500 meters.
