Rupee appreciation continues as dollar slips to Rs98

KARACHI: The depreciation of dollar against rupee continued on Wednesday as it dropped even below Rs99 in an unprecedented decline, ARY News reported.

The US dollar depreciated by Rs2.30 in the open market, valuing at Rs97.80 in interbank. The trading of US dollar in the open market was recorded at 98.50.

A depreciation of Rs10 of US dollar was recorded against rupee in last 10 days.

Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar had stated couple of months ago that dollar will reach Rs98 mark and his claims have now proven true.

Meanwhile, Awami Muslim League chief Sheikh Rashid is apparently in hot water for his claims that he’d leave politics if dollar was slipped to Rs98.
