Rustam welcomes ceasefire by Taliban, labels it a positive move
ISLAMABAD: Member of Government nominated committee for peace talks, Rustam Shah Mohmand has welcomed the announcement of a ceasefire by Taliban and labeled it a positive move in the way of peace – ARY News reports.
According to details, Rustam Shah Mohmand expressed his hopes that the negotiations process will be resumed after the announcement of a ceasefire by Taliban and labeled the decision to be a positive move in the way of having peace in the country.
On the other hand, spokesperson of Taliban nominated team, Molana Yousuf Shah has said that the nation has been given a good new and it is now Government's turn to respond to Taliban's offer positively.
Earlier today, Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) had announced for an unconditional ceasefire with the Government for a month's duration.
TTP spokesperson, Shahidullah Shahid told that the decision was made by the supreme council of Taliban with an approval by the TTP supremo, Mullah Fazlullah.
He had stated that the banned organization is serious in negotiating with Government and the decision was made over repeated appeals by ulema and in the larger interest of the state.
Shahid had also expressed his hopes that the Government will positively respond to their ceasefire announcement.
