SA beats Sri Lanka by 153 runs in first Test

GALLE, Sri Lanka: South Africa beat Sri Lanka by 153 runs on the fifth and final day of the first test to take a one-nil lead in the two-match series on Sunday.

Scores: South Africa 455-9 declared and 206-6 declared v Sri Lanka 292 and 216 (K Sangakkara 76, D Steyn 4-45, M Morkel 4-29).

South Africa won the toss, elected to bat and scored 455 for 9 wickets before declaring in first innings. Sri Lanka replied with 292 in its first innings. South Africa scored impressive 206 for 6 and declared to set up a game in its favour in the second innings.
