The theme of this year’s SAARC summit is “Deeper Regional Integration for Peace and Prosperity”.

The leaders of South Asian countries will discuss the problems of the region as well as the problems of their own countries.

It should be noted that Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is the first leader to attend six SAARC summits. He was greeted by Deputy Prime Minister of the host country upon his arrival.

PM Nawaz will also meet leaders of different countries in Kathmandu. It is also being said that a meeting between Pakistani and Indian Premier Narendra Modi is likely as well.

Sharif has said that Pakistan is ready to hold talks with India but the neighboring state will have to “offer its hand for dialogue first”.
