Sacrifices of APS martyrs will always be remembered: CNS Zafar Mahmood

ISLAMABAD: Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS) Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi on Sunday paid glowing tribute to the martyrs of Army Public School (APS) and said that their sacrifices will always be remembered.

In his message on the eve of fourth anniversary of the Dec 2014 Army Public School attack, which killed around 150 students and staff members, Zafar Mahmood Abbasi also paid homage to the parents and bereaved families of the APS martyred.

Earlier, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa paid rich tribute to the martyrs of Army Public School (APS) Peshawar and salute to their brave parents.

“Remembering & praying for our APS Martyrs. Salute to the brave parents. Nation has bravely faced challenges at heavy cost to come out successful, said General Bajwa, in his message on the eve to mark 4th anniversary of APS martyrs, released by DG Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) through his official twitter handle.

President Dr Arif ALvi and Prime Minister Imran Khan in their separate messages with regard to 4th anniversary of APS martyrs, had said the nation acknowledges the sacrifices of all security forces, including Pakistan Army, for fighting successfully against the menace of terrorism.

It is pertinent to mention here that, on Dec 16, 2014, six terrorists stormed the school and martyred around 150 people, including students and teachers.

After this tragic incident, the government chalked out the National Action Plan (NAP) to eliminate terrorism from the country. Besides, the armed forces launched military operations in the country’s tribal areas to eradicate the scourge of terrorism.
