Sanjrani grieved over loss of precious lives in KP, Balochistan
ISLAMABAD: Chairman Senate Sadiq Sanjrani on Tuesday expressed deep grief and sorrow over the loss of precious lives in rain related incidents due to heavy downpour and floods in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provinces.
In a statement issued, here today in Islamabad, chairman senate expressed his heart felt condolence to the bereaved families, whose loved ones died in recent calamity.
Mr Sanjrani also directed federal and provincial governments to provide full assistance in rehabilitation of the affected families.
According to the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) latest report, at least 23 people lost their lives and 68 others got injured in rain related incidents in current spell of heavy rains in several parts of the country.
The report shows heavy losses in FATA, where nine people were reported to be dead and 13 got injured, while six citizens lost their lives in Balochistan.
Meanwhile, rescue and relief operations were underway in the affected areas as 10, 000 affectees have been provided with food packets, the authority said, adding that relief teams and relevant departments have been put on high alert to deal with any emergency situation.
Personnel of the Pakistan army carried out rescue and relief operations in Lasbela, Makran and other flood-hit areas of Balochistan.
