Saeed Ajmal appointed Director Development Cricket in Punjab

“I am honored to be appointed as Director Development Cricket by chief minister and director general SBP to identify talented young cricketers,” he wrote on his Twitter account @REALsaeedajmal.

Saeed Ajmal’s duties include supervision of cricket academies, reviving cricket grounds and participating in administrative affairs in Punjab as part of development of youth programme.

Ajmal has been ranked by the International Cricket Council as the number one bowler in ODIs between Nov 2011 and Dec 2014. He also helped Pakistan win the World T20 2009.

He was lavished with felicitations by his countrymen and offshore cricketers on this news.

Former T20 captain Muhammed Hafeez said: “Congratulations to my dear brother @REALsaeedajmal on appointment as Director Development of Cricket in Punjab by CM.”

Ex-Australian cricketer Dean Jones posted on his Twitter account, “Now that’s good news! @REALsaeedajmal.”

DG SBP Usman Anwar seemed confident that the veteran cricketer would help in grooming future talent in the country.

“We are confident that Ajmal’s expertise in the game would benefit us. Hiring him is part of our cricket development programme to locate talented cricketers at early levels and to groom them under a long term plan,” he added.

With the picture below, Saeed Ajmal wrote on his Facebook account, “I know who our heroes are, as you all know picture below is full of our heroes. I will try my best to serve my country in searching and identifying young talented cricketers.”
