LAHORE: Pakistan off-spinner Saeed Ajmal said he declined the offer of captaincy for T20 format, ARY News reported Friday.
After Muhammad Hafeez quit T20 captaincy, I was offered the position by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), but I better prefer playing a team player, said Ajmal.
He said he was also reluctant to take reigns of the team as captain.
I want to be relaxed about my cricket, said the spinner.
Ajmal, 36, has played 63 T20 internationals, taking 85 wickets at an economy of 6.34.
He also played 110 One Day Internationals and bagged 182 wickets at economy of 4.14. Ajmal also have 169 wickets to his credit in 33 test matches (66 innings) at an economy of 2.59.
