Saleem Safi, Amir Mir approach Fazl to reconcile Geo, military
ISLAMABAD: Major (R) Muhammad Amir, senior journalist, Saleem Safi and Amir Mir have met the Chief of Jamiat Ulema Islam-Fazl (JUIF), Molana Fazlur Rahman and requested him for reconciliation amongst Geo-Jang Group, Pakistan Army and ISI – ARY News reports.
According to ARY News Islamabad Bureau Chief, Sabir Shakir, the meeting took place at the Parliament Lodges, which continued for more than two hours. Senior journalist, Saleem Safi and Amir Mir (brother of Hamid Mir) appealed Molana Fazlur Rahman to assist in reconciling Pakistan Army and Inter Services Intelligence (ISI).
On this occasion, Fazlur Rahman suggested that all the institutions entities and organizations, whether state-governed or privately-run, should remain within their prescribed limits, however he did not insure anything about playing his role for ending growing differences amongst Geo News, the Pakistan Army and the prime intelligence agency of Pakistan.
Major (R) Amir, when inquired about the meeting, entirely negated the notion that Geo-Jang Group's matter was discussed during the meeting. He also stated that Amir Mir was not present at the meeting.
Yet our correspondent, Zahid Mishwani stayed firm on his stance that the meeting did take place with the above mentioned all the personalities present there.
Meanwhile, ARY News senior anchorperson, Mubashir Lucman, when asked to comment on how he looks at the situation, said that he knows Molana Fazlur Rahman very well.
"The JUIF Chief is an elderly and very mature politician and he will not at all support the ones who maligned the dignified defence institutions of the state and hurt the sentiments of millions of Pakistanis", said Lucman.
