LAHORE: In what appears to be a political fallout of televangelist and religious scholar Amir Liaquat Hussain’s association with the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI), a staunch loyalist of the party announced to distance himself from supporting party chief Imran Khan.

Ahmad announced to cut ties with the party after cricketer-turned politician Imran Khan in an unexpected press conference welcomed Amir Liaquat to the party fold.

In a reaction to this new addition to the party, he said: “After 35 years of defending, supporting & justifying @ImranKhanPTI to the world , i no longer can. i fear that reptiles surround him.”

He further said; “It’s my democratic right to warn against #AmirLiaqat @ImranKhanPTI can never benefit from this hypocrite, liar & a sleazy slithering snake.”

Amir Liaquat’s joining the PTI seemed to have left many of its followers shocked and upset as they believe his image does not make him worthy of such honor.

Supporters didn’t shy away from venting their anger on  social media where they criticized and questioned the addition of Aamir Liaquat to the party.
