Salman Ahmad to perform in US concert

Pakistani rock star Salman Ahmad has been invited to perform at a music concert in United States.
Academy and Grammy award winning American rock singer Melissa Etheridge invited Salman Ahmad to perform at the concert if he was present in the US.
Salman Ahmad said that he was presently in Karachi but still agreed to perform at the concert which is scheduled to be held in New Jersey on December 10.
Junoon, which was founded by Salman Ahmad, became one of the largest rock groups in South Asia. He is currently based in New York and has performed solo under the Junoon band.

Talking to ARY News, Salman Ahmed said that Melissa Etheridge is a rock legend and he will feel honoured to perform their song ‘Ring The Bells’ with her live in the US.
Both Melissa and Salman met during the at the Nobel Peace Prize concert in Oslo in 2007.
Etheridge also wrote the introduction to his book “Rock & Roll Jihad” where she wrote “The story you are about to read is the story of a light-bringer… Salman Ahmad inspires me to reach always for the greatest heights and never to fear….Know that his story is a part of our history.”
She has has received fifteen Grammy Award nominations and has won two in 1993 and 1995 respectively. In 2007, she won an Academy Award for Best Original Song for “I Need to Wake Up” from the film An Inconvenient Truth.
